    The Last Places on Earth

    Southeast Asia

Pictures from my recent trip in Northern Laos. It seems to be a beautiful country, full of dramatic landscape and endless lush greenery. On my short 15 day trip in Laos, I started in Vientiane, the capital, and went on to the important historical city of Luang Prabang, which is now a World Heritage site. From there I visited Luang Namtha, a somewhat remote province in northwest Laos. My final stop was in the even more remote place, a pretty little village called Muang Ngoi in the northeast part of the country. In each place I noticed a large amount of colorful and sometimes striking butterflies, some pictures of which are here.
