Courtship ritual of the Black-Browed Albatrosses on Steeple Jason Island

This video depicts the courtship ritual of the Black-Browed Albatrosses on Steeple Jason Island, in the Falkland Islands. I started the video from a bit of a distance to give a bit of perspective on the colony. You can also get an idea how noisy the colony is with the constant braying of tens of thousands of Albatrosses. It was very windy while I was there, which unfortunately was quite accentuated by my camera microphone. (I only had my digital SLR camera with me at the time I shot this video clip. So, the visual and sound quality is not the sharpest. After 25 seconds of shooting, I zoomed in which made the video look much clearer).

Surfing Penguins on the Coast of New Island

Rockhopper Penguins surfing on New Island in the Falkland Islands. Penguins appear to be very playful animals. During our 26 day journey in the sub-Antarctic and Antarctic Peninsula, we constantly saw what appeared to be penguins at play. Playful activities we saw ranged from from sledding down a snow covered hill, paddling and splashing around a protected pool, zooming down a stream in the rapids, or surfing, as seen here in this video.
